Joshua Downs

Hello, my name is Joshua Downs, you can call me Josh. I’m currently an Art Director at Lavalobe | The New Media Agency in Seattle, WA. Generally, I’m a 3D artist, broadcast & motion designer and old-school pencil doodler among other things. I dig all things animated (2D & 3D) and how they can be digitally glued together into creative elements for visual storytelling.

I'm a storyboard artist, pre-production and creative development specialist with a proven record. And a comprehensive background in traditional print and web design.

  We teamed up with the 17 teams of the Arena Football League to develop a dynamic graphics package representative of their 25th Anniversary season and their high-energy style of football. Lavalobe designed, implemented and distributed the entire network-wide rebrand in under 30 days, including full programming and database creation for CG. With each team managing their own broadcasts, a modular approach allowed the look and feel to be individually unique to each affiliate. The rich acrylic colors, fast-paced energy and custom music keep viewers engaged across the country—including eight television markets in the top-25.

  OSN earned us our second consecutive Emmy in the Graphic Arts category with the Oregon Sports Network multi-resolution broadcast package. The Lavalobe team developed a complete brand identity, designed an entire package from the ground up – including animated intros, station identification, lower 3rds, full-page stats, sponsorship pieces, stings, bumpers and more. We also prepped, implemented and even staffed multiple on-site broadcast events.
